2020 challenge
CHALLENGE YOURSELF
After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to not organize the P4H Block Challenge this year.
Good news though - we have a plan.
We are rebranding the Block Island Challenge this year to CHALLENGE YOURSELF and raise funds for P4H through any or all of the following:
Paddle
Swim
Run
Bike
Walk
Ask your friends and family to support your efforts with P4H donations directly funding mental health focused causes, as well as the P4H Catastrophic Fund whose ongoing support to individuals and families during the COVID-19 pandemic is making a difference in their lives.
From now until August 29th, get out and track your miles
with a goal of raising $1500.
Can’t quite make the goal? You can still participate if you are short of this, but please do your best. All amounts are welcome. After you give or get $500, we will send you a high quality P4H rash guard to wear on your workouts.
Here’s how to do it:
Register Here on the P4H site
Fundraising Page – create your page here
STRAVA mileage tracking and networking (It’s fun)
NEXT
Hit the water or the ground - solo or with friends.
Coordinate with other P4H members on our Facebook page.
TRACK your miles using STRAVA.
Upload photos from your paddle and of your routes to the P4H Facebook page, and tag us on Instagram
Recommended paddle routes from Lars are detailed here.
For info on wind/conditions on any given day you want to paddle these routes, contact Lars with questions or concerns at (516-313-9010)
August 29th Final Challenge and Celebration
Stay tuned for P4H member-led options for a long paddle on the 29th led by P4H board members.
We will end the day with a ZOOM party, announcing top fundraisers, sharing stories and celebrating our achievements. We will give awards for the following categories:
Longest one day paddle
Most money raised
Best social media presence
Think of this as a year to build confidence and challenge yourself. Invite others who may not want to do the whole Block Island Challenge. We will use this year to recruit, rebuild and recommit.
Now, more than ever, these causes are providing much needed services to our community, and the funds you raise are vital.
See You On the Water, Road, or Trails!
